I made a FB account for my steampunk character Lydia Bailey? Pretty much everyone in the steampunk group from Otakon has one, and I've received a number of messages asking me to friend people.

I am partially considering it to make things a little easier organizing events and such.

But then again, Facebook, ugh.....

It'd be strictly for cosplay things though, so perhaps I wouldn't be a TOTAL hypocrite.

Thoughts?

It's not really being a hypocrite. It's a way for you to network your character and expand getting to know people in that genre. I say go for it :)

I've seen people make FB accounts for their cats. Deadmau5's cat, Professor Meowingtons PHD, has his own FB page even.

Yeah, I personally think that's a little silly. But if that's what some people like to do...

Sure go for it. Facebook is a pain in the ass, but I have two of them lol One real FB and one roleplay one
Oh and also I never feel obligated to 'like' someones post, I pretty much ignore everyone except for my closest friends, on there

Hear hear. I created one and I'm about to post a journal about it.
You should friend me. ::nudge nudge::

I think you should do it, fb is a great way to stay in touch with people you wanna stay in touch with. And since it's an OC-account, you don't have to befriend people from school/work or family, if you don't want to feel obligated to "like" and comment on their statuses and such.

Yeah, I had the same thoughts.
I might work on it in a bit.
